About the
regular Investing Models is
here, not below
This page is only about the Dynamic, Actively-managed, Asset Allocation Model Portfolio First, what the regular static passively-managed asset allocation models are in a nutshell: 17 asset classes are chosen, their weightings are assigned (based on five investor risk temperament levels), and then they're funded using mutual funds. The only things that change (or are updated) are these mutual funds. This one dynamic actively-managed asset allocation model uses exactly the same shell (and investment strategy), but the difference is the asset class weights are subject to change monthly based on market timing forecasts. 17 asset classes are chosen, their weightings are assigned (based only on an aggressive investor risk temperament), then they're funded using ETFs. The only things that change (or are updated) are the allocation weights and the ETFs used. In addition, the Biotech asset class was deleted and replaced with a leveraged ETF based on my short-term forecasts. Other asset classes are subject to change too. So we're making market timing forecasts on the asset classes one month in advance (around six weeks really). Please note that this "failed to launch" due to lack of interest, ad money, and the usual problems in this biz. So there's not going to be any of this, sorry. The main problem is making market timing forecasts four to six weeks in advance. This is too hard, and is best done on a daily basis. This is only for the most aggressive investors that think market timing works. You'll get this asset allocation model when you buy the regular Model Portfolios (they're not sold separately). That's it - that's the only difference between the two main versions of the allocation models. The regular static models use a set mix of asset class weightings, that rarely change (on average, a minor change is made every three years), and never change based on forecasts of where a particular asset class may be heading short-, medium-, or long-term. The dynamic models have all asset class weightings subject to change monthly based on market timing forecasts, when everything is updated. This is in addition to the ETF picks, which are the same as used in the static models. So both the asset class weights and the funding vehicles are subject to change monthly. There's only one dynamic asset allocation model, so there's not five risk tolerance categories as in the Fee-Based, No-load, and Load models. The only similarity to them is 15 of the 17 asset classes are the same. As with everything here, we're just "making suggestions," then it's totally up to you whether or not you act upon them in any way. These "new" dynamic asset allocation models have no effect on the "old" static model allocations, strategy, fund picks, or anything else. Everything will be staying exactly the way it has been, and that will never change. The models and calls are updated and sent the first week of the month Please note that this service failed to launch, so unless a lot of people ask for it, it's kaput. |
