This free retirement calculator is the RP Retirement Planner that's for sale on this site. It has some of the input cells protected/locked so you can't use them, in order to limit its functionality. Even so, it still has much more power than any other free online (or offline) retirement calculator the internet has ever seen. This means that it will do everything every other free online retirement calculator will do, plus dozens of more important operations. And it will do them all with much more accuracy. This means you can see more retirement strategies than most anything else. If you rely on retirement software to make personal financial decisions, then this could literally save your life. You may have to read some directions, but we feel that's worth it considering all of the important things you'll be able to do with it. This free retirement planning calculator uses a superior Monte Carlo simulation methodology than other retirement planners. Everything is explained in the user manual, and on the Monte Carlo simulations page. You can use Excel's built-in "Goal Seek" function to do your "What-ifs," which is something that no other retirement planning software can do. For example, just click on cell B35 of the Presentation Pages 1 & 2 sheet, then go to Tools, Goal Seek, Change the "To value:" field to zero, then click on the bottom field, then click on any other input cell that will help make the retirement plan reach the goals better (like a rate of return input field of an asset sheet). Click OK, and Excel will automatically increase rate of return until the amount of more money needed shown in cell B35 goes to zero. Then you'll know what the rate of return you'd need to get to reach your retirement goals, assuming all other input stayed the same. With this feature, you can do all of the "What If?" and "Goal Seeking" functions that any other retirement software can do, plus dozens more that they can't do (because it's not written in MS Excel). You can use both any result cell with any input cell with Goal Seek. Why Are We Doing This? · Giving things of value away for free is a great way to get people's attention! In addition to the other free financial software on the gray row at the top of this page, there are a lot more valuable financial freebies on the free downloads page. · We hope that now that you're here, you'll be very happy with the free version of RP, and that you'll think about buying one of our retirement planners. And we hope you'll check out the outstanding investment portfolio returns of the asset allocation models and asset allocation software! · The vast majority of the free online calculators on the web today are just downright dangerous. They don't even get you close to the ballpark. The same can be said with most versions of Monte Carlo retirement software. When people use these things, and then relying on the information, and then when the Real World rears its ugly head, they'll find they're in trouble. There are so many important details in the Real World, that when you use the usual free online retirement calculators, all it takes is just one of the hundreds of factors to work against you, and you'll either be going back to work, liquidating investments, bumming or borrowing money, eating dog food, or dead because you can't afford health care. For example, this is the only free retirement calculator that will allow you to input assumed vehicle replacements every few years (you have complete control over this huge expense). This free version of RP will allow you to account for many times more of the "gotchas" that want to crop up and ruin your retirement, your life, and maybe the lives of other people that planned on your retirement going well. · Hopefully, you'll tell other people. Download It Now: If your browser is MS standard Internet Explorer, updated, and configured properly, then you'll probably be able to regular left click on the free download link, and the Excel spreadsheet "retirement_calculator.xls" will open up in your browser, and you can use it "online." From here you can save it to your hard drive, with all of your data you input saved, for use later offline. Regular left clicking just doesn't work for some people because of fire walled networks, non-MS I.E./old/and/or misconfigured browsers. So you'll probably get some annoying screen about needing to enter a username and password. If whatever happens when you left click doesn't work, then the next paragraph will tell you how it will always work. Whether regular clicking works or not - you can right click on a link below, and then choose "Save (Target) As..." to save the spreadsheet to a folder on your hard drive. Then just open it with Excel (yes you need MS Excel, Lotus, or Quattro-Pro - it will not work with just MS Works). You won't be able to use it "online" in your browser like this, but that doesn't matter.
